MÉDECINS SANS FRONTIÈRES (MSF), also known as Doctors Without Borders, is an international humanitarian NGO, best known for its projects in war-torn regions and developing countries affected by endemic diseases. MSF has been providing assistance to people crossing the Mediterranean to Europe since the autumn of 2002. Since 2015 MSF teams are on board five search and rescue ship in the central Mediterranean Sea and is active in Aegean Sea with two different sar operations. In Tunisia, MSF has trained local fishermen in search and rescue. MSF was active in partnership with other NGOs (rescue, medical, organizational support).
