The CORPO ITALIANO DI SOCCORSO DELL’ORDINE DI MALTA (CISOM), based in Italy, is a Foundation of melitian law for the purpose of civil, social, health care, humanitarian and cooperation protection, instrumental to the Sovereign Order of Malta.
Following the intensification of migratory flows between Turkey and Greece, CISOM decided to start a new mission to support the NGO MOAS in order to help people who seek to reach Europe through the Aegean Sea. After years of experience in first aid at sea, doctors and nurses from CISOM were boarded on MOAS Topaz Responder.
