PLATANOS RESCUE TEAM start in October 2015 in Lesvos by a group of ten people from the “Self-organized Solidarity Initiative on Refugees”, in response to a call for assistance from the lesbian NGO. The structure was based in ‘Platanos Point’ and consists of a multinational solidarity partnership involved either as individuals or as collectives. One basic area of actions is sea patrolling and rescuing operations with a speed boat that has been made available by a solidarity member. The Platanos Team provide also receiving, medical aid and cooking groups, logistics and distribution of clothing, hospitality, interpreters and transportation.
